Tassu went off to join the O’Connell family as a cute a fluffy pup – to grow into a very handsome boy with a great sense of empathy. He was a true rock and great comfort to Heather and family during Heather’s illness, and I remember Heather saying he never judges me now I have no hair – such is the love of a dog. Diagnosed with cataracts as a youngster – he was stoical throughout all his eye check ups and after his operation at the age of 8, never had a cross word to the vet staff who cared for him. He was so delighted when Onneli joined them, his own “girlfriend” – sadly for him, she resisted his charms (she was neutered). One of the few lapphunds who loved to chase a ball, he was easily exercised with a tennis ball, Onneli preferring to chase the rabbits.
