(Sulyka Lecibsin Nilla x Lecibsin Loru at Sulyka)

9th November 1992 to 23rd January 2003

probably the most beautiful dog ever

Echo started my love affair with this breed, she was a dog in a million, who certainly stole my heart and that of many others.  So many people attribute their interest in the breed to her, once she was seen it was easy to fall in love with the breed.

Echo was the cheeky pup in a litter of eight bred by Sue Dunger, the one with the white socks! She was a show off at four weeks of age, and was still showing off at age of nine years!

Echo’s show career started with a BIG BANG in July 1994 when after winning BP Imported Register under Liz Stannard at Paignton, she went onto to win the first of many BIR (at only 8 months) at National Working Breeds Ch show, under Zena Thorn-Andrews.

Echo was shown in Finland, alongside Finnish bred dogs. At the Winner 2000 show she was graded excellent, placed third in Open Bitch (over 7 years) and given a SA ribbon (worthy of a CAC).

This proved that Echo was of the correct type and quality, and makes me very proud of her. This award achieved at the tender age of Eight years!

In 2002 she won the CAC/CACIB and World Winners title at the World Show in Amsterdam 2002 under Kari Jarvinen, her son Peikko took BOB and Group 3 – what a day.

Then at Southern Counties 2002 she won the Pro Dog Stakes – The UK’s first Stakes winner and was runner up Veteran Stakes Bournemouth 2002.

She was used by Beta to be a poster girl for one of their dog food bags, and featured in a number of canine encyclopedias.

She also tried her hand at Agility – and competed successfully.

Sadly she developed liver cancer at 9.5 years of age and was taken from us far too young.

They that love beyond the world cannot be separated by it.
Death cannot kill what never dies.
